Questions Before You Begin

Honest answers to what people ask us most. If yours is not here, text us — we would rather answer it than have you guess.

Do I need to be in shape to start?

No. You do not need to be an athlete. You do not need to be pain-free. You do not need to have everything figured out. Most of our clients start while managing something — an injury, a setback, or years away from training. You only need a place to begin.

Is this physical therapy?

No. Twice as Fit lives in the space between traditional fitness and medical care. We do not diagnose you, treat conditions, or replace your healthcare team. What we do is teach movement and build training around what your body is currently ready for.

I just finished physical therapy. Is this the right next step?

Often, yes — and it is one of the most common reasons people find us. Physical therapy gets you out of crisis and back to daily life. Our work builds the capacity to return to your actual life: the sport, the travel, the work, the floor with your grandchildren. That gap between being out of pain and being prepared is where we live.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. One-to-one coaching is available in person in Lake Forest and virtually, and many clients use a mix of both. Teaching you to train anywhere is part of the point — not a compromise.

How often do I need to train?

Most clients train one to three times per week. We build the plan around your real schedule rather than your ideal one, including a shorter version for demanding weeks and travel. Continuity matters more than intensity.

What actually happens in a Movement Consult?

A conversation about your history, goals, lifestyle, and concerns — then simple movements and physical tests to learn how your body currently responds. There is no passing or failing; the goal is awareness. It is complimentary, and there is no obligation to continue.

Where are you located?

1361 N. Western Ave, Lake Forest, IL 60045, inside Sports and Ortho Physical Therapy. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. We serve Chicago's North Shore in person and clients everywhere virtually.

How much does coaching cost?

It depends on format, frequency, and the length of your engagement. We would rather explain what drives the investment than post a number that may not apply to you — see what shapes pricing, or bring it up in your Movement Consult.

What if I have a diagnosis or I am still under a doctor's care?

Many of our clients are. We work alongside your healthcare team, not around it, and we will stay within whatever your provider has cleared. Bring your restrictions to the consult — they are useful information, not a barrier.
